Description

Here is an introduction of the characters in my new project, which I have decided to name Knights of the Outcasts. From left to right.
Kimmie, representing different sexuality and social grouping. Kimmie is now 15 years old in my story, in high school. She is bisexual and considered to be in the gothic/punk group, and gets crap daily for both things. Being gothic doesn't mean you worship satan or believe you're a vampire, and being bisexual does not mean you like boys and girls AT THE SAME TIME, nor does it mean you are instantly open to orgies. Kimmie's struggles and how she handles them will be written about shortly.
Next is Levi, representing mental illnesses. Levi suffers from bipolar disorder, though his case isn't major, as well as social anxiety, at 15 years of age. He often gets bullied for this, being called insane and a big baby for his constant mood swings, and doesn't have many friends because he prefers to keep to himself for fear of making a fool of himself, though he longs to be social because he often feels lonely. Levi's struggles and how he handles them will be written about shortly.
Sarika is next, representing the problem of racism. As a 15 year exchange student from Jaipur, India, Sarika can tell you that racism is still very much alive. Though she is still able to make some friends, the good doesn't always beat the bad...the fact that anyone would treat her like a lesser person simply because she has different color skin, speaks her native tongue better than English, dresses differently, has a different religion, is ridiculous. Sarika's struggles and how she handles them will be written about shortly.
Kori is next, a female to male transgender teen of 16. Representing the struggle of gender queer teens trying to decide who they are and how they will feel comfortable in their own skin, Kori tried to pull of his transexuality as wanting to just dress tomboyish at first, but is slowly coming out of hiding, asking people to use male pronouns when speaking to/of him. Of course the struggle of bullying is a constant thing to deal with, as teenagers can be cruel when it comes to this sort of thing. Kori's struggles and how he handles them will be written about shortly.
And last but not least, we have Ash. Ash represents the serious problem of human trafficking and under aged prostitution, at just 15 years old. Her father uses her to make money for the family, and abuses her and rapes her as well. Since she is terrified of him, the only person who knows of her problem is her best friend Kimmie. Ash's struggles and how she handles them will be written about shortly.

Stay tuned for stories about these characters and their daily struggles, and how they make it through day by day. I look forward to writing theses stories in hopes to open some eyes on the issues at hand, as well as show support to those who struggle with these problems as well.
